We're the wives of the Pendleton Round-Up Pickup Men. Every year for one week in September we camp together, shop together, wash horses together, hot walk horses together, watch the rodeo together, and go to the Let’er Buck room... together. We work hard, we play hard, we often have a little too much fun! We take care of our pickup men... and have a lot of fun along the way! Jody Rempel * Debbie Northcott * Marlo Ward * Karen Brown * Linda Russell (Honorary) Amish Jean (Honorary) NEW in 2010 – Amanda Richardson We have a few rituals: we each have our own carabiner that we bring, and on the first day we hook them all together and put them in a secret location, as a symbol that we are all together. Then, when we leave, we each take ours, as something we can carry with us to remember the bond that we have. We try to keep the day that we go to the Let’er buck room a secret from the guys... we are escorted there by a member of the Roundup Committee and they DO take care of us! We give gifts to each other and it's better than Christmas. Often it's something we can wear or an item of jewelry; and each year we bring all of our items back and wear them! One of the best things about our camp is our camp leader, Jay-Man! He is the best and along with his cooking crew that includes Jim Korkow, feeds us 3 squares a day for a week... and he can make the best barbequed salmon!
